JOB PURPOSE: The Logistics Coordinator plans, organizes, and controls the flow of material through the fabrication departments, between facilities and to job sites in a professional and timely manner Working with project managers, engineering, and fabrication to ensure that products and materials are at the locations (on site and off) which they are needed on time and efficiently as possible Responsibilities - Maintain working relationship with freight carriers
Scheduling & loading out-bound freight (flatbed truckload) according to the bill of lading(s) provided by the Project Manager Work with Purchasing to generate POs for freight vendors and shipping materials as necessary Prepare LTL shipments including but not limited to: Submitting LTL pickup requests, creation of LTL Bill of Lading, and the palletization/preparation of materials for LTL shipment - Working with Fabrication to unload in-bound materials
- Stage material for manufacturing processing as dictated by production schedules
- Work with Purchasing and Receiving to ensure that all incoming materials are properly received, staged, and clearly labeled
- Scheduling and transportation of needed material between fabrication facilities using company vehicles and or outside contractors
- Maintenance and organization of stocking and staging areas
Monitoring and ordering of shipping materials
Additional Duties as Required - Various other projects assigned by Management as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS: - Ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in both a team environment and individually
- Detail oriented
- Experience with computer-based skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Operation of industrial lift equipment and flatbed truck (DOT physical required)
- Operation of overhead cranes
- Project and time management
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service abilities
- Basic knowledge of DOT requirements and limitations
- Ability to work assigned schedule with alternate hours, as necessary
